SINGAPORE: The family and friends of Tanjong Katong Primary School student Rachel Ho bade her a tearful farewell on Thursday (Jun 11).
They had started streaming into her home just after 9am to pay their final respects to the student who lost her life in the Mount Kinabalu earthquake last Friday. At about 10am, her family performed the last rites in accordance with a Buddhist ceremony. Her coffin was then carried out and placed in the hearse.
Just before leaving the home, her father Mr James Ho, bade a tearful farewell to his only daughter as he touched his forehead on her coffin.
The procession then followed the hearse to the Tse Tho Aum Temple, where Rachel will be cremated.
