SINGAPORE: A committal hearing for the 2013 double murder in Kovan has been scheduled for Jul 29.
Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean said this on Monday (Jul 13) in a written parliamentary reply to MP Sylvia Lim, who asked for an update on the criminal proceedings against the accused.
The hearing will decide whether or not to commit the accused to a High Court trial.
Police officer Iskandar Rahmat was charged with the murders of a businessman and his son at Hillside Drive on Jul 15, 2013. He is facing two counts of murder and is currently remanded at Changi Prison Complex, pending court proceedings.
If he is committed to stand trial in the High Court, the trial dates will be from Oct 20 to 30, 2015, and Mar 29 to Apr 8, 2016.
