IF SATURDAY night’s rally at Potong Pasir was to be his farewell to the constituency, the residents certainly gave their former incumbent MP Chiam See Tong a rousing sendoff.

The 5,000-strong crowd chanted his name and cheered almost non-stop the moment Mr Chiam came on stage. And when it was his turn to speak, every sentence he uttered was greeted with loud cheers.
