Deepavali fireworks at Yishun for the second year in a row

Two men, ages 48 and 29, have been arrested for the incident, since the possession and setting off of fireworks is illegal, and conviction can result in as much as two years jail time, caning, or a fine of S $2,000 to S$ 10,000, under the Dangerous Fireworks Act.

    Maybe they didn’t pay tax for the fireworks.

  5. Let’s face it, is really dangerous to perform fire work if you do not equip with knowledge of controlling it. It could caused harm to yourself, others, or causing property damages.
    However, celebration purposes should be allowed, but in an allocated place.
    Anyway, I still do not think those harsh punishment is necessary over those 2 caught.
