Supporting the Global HR Director for TUI Destination Experiences (TUI DX), the Head of HR APAC, India & Indian Ocean will play a key part in developing and delivering the HR strategy for TUI DX within APAC, India and Indian Ocean. This role will partner TUI DX Board members which is a newly formed Board. Through effective relationships, business knowledge and trust, this role will support and guide Board members thinking and decision making during the critical time when TUI DX is redesigned and starts to operate as a new organisation. What you will be doing As Head of HR APAC, India & Indian Ocean you will be responsible for leading on the employee relations strategy, driving employee engagement and performance initiatives, supporting talent management initiatives to develop and retain high performers and high potential to leverage the link between employee engagement and high performance. Further, as Head of HR for the region, you will lead a team of local HR Managers either solid line or dotted line (based remotely) and will be responsible for managing the performance and development of the team through effective leadership so the team feel supported, valued and engaged to deliver high performance. As Head of HR APAC, India & India Ocean you will be responsible for interpreting the HR strategy for TUI DX and translating into bespoke HR Business Plans for the respective business areas. The individual will also take personal responsibility for the delivery and implementation of key objectives within the respective business areas. Partnering with TUI DX Board members and acting as a member of their leadership teams, they will formulate creative and innovative solutions to address our current and future employee relations challenges in a way which increases the direct engagement of our people in the overall business strategy. Working with Directors, senior managers and trade union partners/works councils (if applicable), the role will build strong relationships which influence future decisions, partnership working and produce timely solutions that contribute to the long term benefit and overall success of the business. Further, you will ensure that there is an effective process in place to ensure the right people are in the right roles and are capable of delivering the roles objectives. Through effective succession planning, all business critical roles will have a clear succession path and utilize the expertise of the Head of Learning & Development to identify talent and know when and how to access internal opportunities and interventions that will develop and grow talent. You will also be responsible for supporting engagement initiatives across their client groups. Acting as an ambassador for change, you will further lead and champion HR change initiatives and projects to reduce cost base so the new organization is sustainable and competitive. As a member of the Senior HR Team for TUI DX, you will work collaboratively with HR colleagues across the Group to ensure that the team objectives are delivered across the HR Team. In addition the role must provide clear and timely communications to the HRBP’s and local HR Managers so they are well informed and understand the part they play in delivering the Big Picture, strategic framework, values, business and HR objectives. What we are looking for University degree to at least bachelor level Speak one Asian language fluently, notably Mandarin, Cantonese or Thai Must have lived abroad and/or have had significant international experience with at least three countries within the region Track record of introducing new initiatives, reducing cost, managing change and delivering tangible results to the business Delivers results which contribute to the long-term benefit and overall success of the business Able to think proactively and operate strategically to support both the HR and business strategy on an international level Demonstrate a strong commitment to working in a team and creating excellent relationships Can operate effectively in an ambiguous fast-paced constantly changing environment Regular travel required (50%) Working within TUI group Discovering the world’s diversity, exploring new horizons, experiencing foreign countries and cultures: travel broadens peoples’ minds.
