To support our global growth across business and service lines, Amazon has created a Global Expansion/M+A HR team. This team will be dedicated to supporting all aspects of expansion projects involving employment activity. The Global Expansion/M+A HR team will be comprised of Regional Project Managers, Program Management a Business Analyst function.

Key Responsibilities

The Regional HR Project Manager will be responsible for leading project management and expansion planning across all business and services lines in their respective regions (EMEA, APAC or the Americas). Expansion project activity is inclusive of M+A, new country expansion, in-country expansion and new business line expansion initiatives. Regional HR PMs will partner closely with respective HR Business Partner line colleagues and Central HR Specialist functions to plan expansion activity, allocate resources and execute project plans in support of expansion initiatives. Regional HR PMs will also serve as ‘employment practice’ expert resources for their region and utilize market analysis to support expansion planning with HR Business Partner colleagues. They will also contribute to process improvement initiatives, and support deployment of tools and materials to support expansion needs. These roles report to the head of the Global Expansion HR Team.

Basic Qualifications

Expertise in leading large-scale (global or regional) project management of expansion projects across varying business and service units

Experience driving expansion projects related to new geographies and businesses, experience in M+A integration projects strongly preferred

Demonstrates Customer Obsession: Possesses strong business acumen and drives expansion project management with customer interests as focal point

Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and discretion through ambiguous phases of expansion project development

Possesses working knowledge of employment laws and market practice within regional geographies, partners effectively with local HR and employment legal resources to incorporate local practice into project planning

Proven ability to influence and drive results laterally and remotely-through HR and cross-functional colleagues. Ability to influence effectively with Regional-level partners and leaders of specialist central function teams (eg Compensation + Benefits, Payroll, HR Services)

Possesses excellent communications skills: exemplifies Amazon’s leadership principles effectively internally and externally to new business and service partners, vendors and the community

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrates humility and openness to multiple perspectives in leading project decision making

Ability to work effectively across business/service lines and varying cultures

Proficiency in project planning methodologies and tools

Proficiency in leading change through data-driven solutions

Ability to travel up to 50%-extensive regional and some international travel will be required

Preferred Qualifications

HR or business line experience in multiple geographies is strongly preferred

PM certification or equivalent within graduate business/HR degree preferred
